Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 2026
Teadar is an independent, non-commercial hobbyist project. We respect your privacy and only collect the minimum amount of data required to make the platform function.
1. Data We Collect
- Account Information: When you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password hash. This is strictly used for authentication.
- User-Generated Content: Tea scores, tasting notes, and public profile settings that you explicitly provide.
- Server Logs: Standard server logs (which may include IP addresses) for security, rate-limiting, and error tracking.
2. Cookies and Tracking
We intentionally do not use third-party tracking scripts (like Facebook Pixel or standard Google Analytics) or invasive advertising cookies.
We only use essential cookies (such as secure session tokens) needed to keep you logged into your account and protect the site against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). Because we do not use non-essential cookies, we do not require a cookie banner under the ePrivacy Directive.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is stored on secure third-party infrastructure (such as Supabase for authentication and Neon for databases).
4. Your GDPR Rights & Data Deletion
If you are an EU resident (or anyone else), you have the right to request access to the data we have on you, or request that your account be permanently deleted.
You can automatically delete your account at any time using the "Delete Account" button found at the bottom of your Account Settings. This action will immediately delete your personal account data and anonymize your displayed name on any public tea reviews you have posted.
If you wish to completely remove your historical tea reviews, photos, or if you accidentally included personally identifiable information in a public review that needs manual removal, please email us from the address associated with your account at: legal@teadar.com
