How should I brew Heirloom Silver Needle?
Water around 75–85 °C (167–185 °F). In a mug, steep 3–5 min. For gongfu, use 4–5 g per 100 ml, 20–40 s steeps. You'll get to see how the flavor changes across multiple rounds. Pretty forgiving. Oversteeping by a bit won't ruin it the way it would with a green.
Where does Heirloom Silver Needle come from?
Grown in Fujian, China from the Fuding Dahaocha cultivar. This batch is from the Spring 2025 harvest. The leaves got a medium roast after picking.
How much does Heirloom Silver Needle cost?
Starts at $29.95 from Mei Leaf, or about $1.27/g. A 20g package gets you around 3 gongfu sessions at ~6 g each, which works out to about $7.62 per session. Explore more white teas on Teadar.
