How should I brew Silver Needle?
Water around 75–85 °C (167–185 °F). In a mug, steep 3–5 min. For gongfu, use 4–5 g per 100 ml, 20–40 s steeps. You'll get to see how the flavor changes across multiple rounds. Pretty forgiving. Oversteeping by a bit won't ruin it the way it would with a green.
Where does Silver Needle come from?
Grown in Yunnan, China from the Menghai Daye cultivar. This batch is from the Spring 2025 harvest.
How much does Silver Needle cost?
Starts at $1.60 from Mei Leaf, or about $0.22/g. A 5g package gets you around 1 gongfu sessions at ~6 g each, which works out to about $1.30 per session. Explore more white teas on Teadar.
