About This Tea
What does Elder White taste like?
This delicate white tea offers a refreshing character, opening with bright elderflower and succulent apricot notes. Hints of fresh pine and a gentle ginger warmth emerge on the finish, creating a beau. It leans floral, fruity and spicy.
How should I brew Elder White?
Water around 75–85 °C (167–185 °F). In a mug, steep 3–5 min. For gongfu, use 4–5 g per 100 ml, 20–40 s steeps. You'll get to see how the flavor changes across multiple rounds. Pretty forgiving. Oversteeping by a bit won't ruin it the way it would with a green.
Where does Elder White come from?
Grown in Yunnan, China from the Menghai Daye cultivar. This batch is from the Spring 2025 harvest.
How much does Elder White cost?
Starts at $1.60 from Mei Leaf, or about $0.18/g. A 5g package gets you around 1 gongfu sessions at ~6 g each, which works out to about $1.07 per session. Explore more white teas on Teadar.
