About This Tea
What does Matcha taste like?
This premium Uji Matcha delivers a deep umami character, reminiscent of rich kombu and fresh spinach. Its finely ground texture provides a silky smooth mouthfeel, with bright notes of fresh grass bala. It leans vegetal, umami and smooth.
How should I brew Matcha?
Water around 70–80 °C (158–176 °F). In a mug, steep 2–3 min. For gongfu, use 3–5 g per 100 ml, 15–30 s steeps. You'll get to see how the flavor changes across multiple rounds. The biggest mistake with green tea is using boiling water. Keep it well below that and you won't get bitterness.
Where does Matcha come from?
Grown in Kyoto, Japan. This batch is from the Summer harvest.
How much does Matcha cost?
Starts at $20.73 from Nannuoshan, or about $0.69/g. A 30g package gets you around 5 gongfu sessions at ~6 g each, which works out to about $4.14 per session. Explore more green teas on Teadar.
